Accessibility Statement:

SciTech is committed to meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This includes features of our ADA compliant headquarters office facility in Havre de Grace, MD, providing reasonable accommodation for employees with disabilities per Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act, and maintaining compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Section 508 compliance ensures SciTech’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is accessible to people with disabilities, requiring comparable access to information and data for our employees, our customers, and the public.

SciTech Services Inc. primarily provides services to various military and civilian Government organizations. SciTech’s accessibility policy ensures that we continue to make accessibility to all aspects of our business facilities and processes a priority. This includes a comprehensive plan to maintain Section 508 compliance. We developed a plan that allowed us to feel confident that we are currently in compliance while also providing for updating and monitoring our IT infrastructure and digital business communications to maintain currency.

It is SciTech’s policy and commitment to meet the accessibility requirements of and maintain compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The specific details of our 508 compliances are provided below. These details include the conformance of our corporate website to 508 compliance requirements, the compliance of the ICT Hardware and ICT Software SciTech issues to our employees, the compliance of the documents our employees create using our ICT software and distribute to our customers, and the accessibility training our employees take. Finally, if required on our Federal contracts, SciTech flows down the 508 compliance requirements to our subcontractors and vendors.

    Zip files are single files, sometimes called “archives,” that contain one or more compressed files. Files with this extension (.zip) require WinZip to open and extract them.

ICT Hardware:

SciTech issues Section 508 compliant Dell ICT hardware to all of its employees.

ICT Software:

Updated corporate ICT software on every company computer includes Microsoft Windows version 10 or 11 operating system as well as the most recent versions of Microsoft 365 for MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Outlook). We also use Adobe Acrobat. All this software has the capabilities needed to create 508 compliant documents.

ICT Documents:

SciTech is a services company. The products it develops and delivers to its  customer are documents created using the ICT software described above. SciTech employees are trained in using features in the ICT software packages listed in the paragraph above to create documents that are 508 compliant.

Training and Awareness:

SciTech employees receive awareness training on accessibility and Section 508 compliance. SciTech employees are required to take the training recommended by GSA on its 508 Compliance website (Accessibility Training, Tools, and Events | Section508.gov). In addition, SciTech employees selected based upon the roles they perform within SciTech have attended formal 508 compliance training for creating 508 compliant documents using the Microsoft and Adobe products listed above conducted by a Microsoft Solutions Partner. The employees who have taken the formal training are available to assist other SciTech employees in creating 508 compliant documents. This formal training content is now a part of SciTech’s internal training program.

Procurements and Subcontracts on Federal Contracts:

If and as required in our Federal contracts, SciTech will flow down the Section 508 accessibility requirements for covered ICT in the subcontracts we issue to our subcontractors and in the purchase orders we issue to our vendors.
